The brief

A Fortune 500 distribution organisation needed to streamline access management and strengthen identity governance across a large, complex application estate. Onboarding users was slow, and governance controls were inconsistent.

They turned to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud to bring provisioning, certifications and role-based access under one governed platform — with HR systems as the authoritative source of identity.

What the client needed
  • Onboard enterprise applications into a single governance platform.
  • Stand up access certifications across the organisation.
  • Implement role-based access control.
  • Configure reliable provisioning workflows.
  • Manage identity profiles consistently.
  • Integrate cleanly with HR and directory sources.
02

Our approach

Our consultants contributed to the ISC implementation — onboarding enterprise applications, configuring provisioning workflows, and standing up RBAC and access certifications, with Workday and Oracle HRMS feeding authoritative identity data via SCIM 2.0 and REST.

Identity profile management and integration support tied the estate together so access stayed accurate as people joined, moved and left.

03

What we delivered

Enterprise application onboarding

Applications integrated into ISC for centralised governance.

Access certification setup

Periodic reviews to attest and right-size access.

RBAC implementation

Access granted by role for consistency and control.

Provisioning workflow configuration

Reliable, automated provisioning and de-provisioning.

Identity profile management

Consistent identity data across sources.

Integration support

HR and directory sources connected as authoritative inputs.

04

How we built it

We integrated authoritative HR sources (Workday, Oracle HRMS) and directories first, using SCIM 2.0 and REST so identity data was trustworthy before provisioning automation went live.

Provisioning workflows, RBAC and certification campaigns were configured and rolled out in phases, with integration support throughout to keep the estate consistent.

05

How it works

1

Source

HR systems feed authoritative identity data.

2

Onboard

Applications are integrated into ISC.

3

Provision

Workflows grant and revoke access by role.

4

Certify

Access certifications attest entitlements.

5

Sustain

Integration support keeps profiles accurate.

The identity governance layer

Anchoring identity to authoritative HR sources is what makes onboarding fast and governance trustworthy — access derives from role and employment status rather than ad-hoc requests. RBAC and certifications then keep entitlements right over time.

SCIM 2.0 and REST integration kept provisioning clean across a large, heterogeneous application estate.
