At MappOptimist, a Dynamics 365 technical developer costs $45/hr, a functional consultant $55/hr, a solution architect $85/hr and a project manager or business analyst $25/hr. On a full-time month of 160 hours that is about $7,200 for a developer and $8,800 for a functional consultant, before commitment discounts of about 10% (3 months) or 20% (6 months or more).
Dynamics 365 rates by role
These are our standard 2026 rates for Dynamics 365 specialists working remotely from India, billed monthly on actual hours. The monthly columns assume a full-time month of 160 hours.
| Role | Hourly rate | Per month (160 h) | 3-month plan (about 10% off) | 6+ month plan (about 20% off) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Technical Developer | $45/hr | $7,200 | $6,480 | $5,760 |
| Functional Consultant | $55/hr | $8,800 | $7,920 | $7,040 |
| Solution Architect | $85/hr | $13,600 | $12,240 | $10,880 |
| Project Manager / Business Analyst | $25/hr | $4,000 | $3,600 | $3,200 |
Which role do you need?
- Functional consultant: works out how your sales, service, field or finance teams actually operate, then configures Dynamics 365 around it: entities, forms, business process flows, security roles, Field Service scheduling or Finance and SCM setup. Pick one when the question is "how should this work?".
- Technical developer: builds what configuration cannot do: C# and .NET plug-ins, Power Automate flows, Power Apps, integrations through Azure, data migration scripts, Business Central AL extensions and Power BI reports. Pick one when the design is clear and the backlog is the bottleneck.
- Solution architect: owns the overall design across modules and systems: data model, integration pattern, environments and the order of releases. Worth having for a multi-module rollout or a messy existing org, often part time.
- Project manager / business analyst: runs the plan, the requirements and user acceptance testing, and keeps the business side moving so consultants are not waiting for answers.
What a Dynamics 365 team costs per month
Most Dynamics 365 work needs more than one role. These example shapes show the monthly cost at the standard rate with everyone full time; a solution architect or project manager can also join part time, billed on actual hours.
| Work | Team | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| Backlog support | 1 technical developer | $7,200 |
| Customisation sprint | 1 functional consultant + 1 technical developer | $16,000 |
| Module rollout | 1 functional consultant + 2 technical developers + 1 project manager / BA | $27,200 |
| Larger programme | 1 solution architect + 2 functional consultants + 4 technical developers | $60,000 |
What moves the total cost
- Module and scope: a Sales or Customer Service rollout is usually lighter than Finance and Supply Chain Management, where data migration and process redesign take longer.
- Customisation versus configuration: every plug-in, integration and custom Power App adds developer time; standard configuration mostly needs functional time.
- Integrations and data: the number of systems Dynamics 365 must talk to, and the state of the data you migrate, drive a large share of developer hours.
- Commitment: a 3-month plan is about 10% below standard and a 6-month plan about 20% below, with priority or reserved bench access.
- Licences are separate: Microsoft Dynamics 365 licences are bought from Microsoft or your licensing partner and are not part of these rates.
Hourly team or fixed-scope project?
The rates above are for staff augmentation and dedicated teams: you direct the work and pay for hours. When the scope is clear, for example a defined Field Service rollout, we can quote a fixed-scope implementation instead, after a discovery call. Partners and consultancies that resell Dynamics 365 delivery can use the same consultants on a white-label basis.
Working hours for UAE, UK and US teams
Our consultants are in New Delhi. India is 1.5 hours ahead of the UAE, so the working day overlaps almost completely with Gulf business hours. For clients in the UK and the US, engineers work in your time zone. See working with UAE organisations.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Dynamics 365 consultant cost per hour?
Our 2026 rates are $55/hr for a functional consultant, $45/hr for a technical developer, $85/hr for a solution architect and $25/hr for a project manager or business analyst. Rates are indicative and confirmed per engagement scope, duration and resource availability.
How much is a full-time Dynamics 365 developer per month?
About $7,200 a month at the standard rate for 160 hours, about $6,480 on a 3-month plan and about $5,760 on a 6-month plan. Billing is monthly on actual hours, with no recruitment fees.
Why is a functional consultant priced higher than a developer?
A functional consultant designs how Dynamics 365 should support your business process and signs off configuration with your users, so the role combines module knowledge with business analysis. A developer builds the extensions that design calls for. Many projects need fewer functional hours than developer hours.
Are Microsoft licences included?
No. Dynamics 365 licences are bought from Microsoft or your licensing partner. Our rates cover the consultants and developers only.
How quickly can a Dynamics 365 consultant start?
We send resumes, availability and rates within one business day. After you interview and approve the consultant, average onboarding is about a week.
Do you price Dynamics 365 by experience band like other roles?
No. Dynamics 365 is priced by role, because the role (functional, technical, architect, project management) changes the cost more than years of experience. Our other engineering roles are priced in three experience bands; see the offshore developer rates guide.
